Italy - XXX Marian Day of ADMA

(ANS - Turin) - "Dream and make people dream". This is the motto of ADMA's XXX Marian Day held in Turin on Sunday 20 September with about 400 participants including adults and young people. A somewhat special day, because it was marked by the handover of the animation of the Association from Fr Pierluigi Cameroni to Fr Alejandro Guevara. An atmosphere of celebration and gratitude marked the event, with moments of participation and emotion, such as the delivery of a beautiful photo album and Marian stoles. Renato Valera, President of ADMA, coordinated the day, underlining how Mary Help of Christians always accompanies the Association.

(ANS - Vilnius) - Fr Massimo Bianco, SDB, has been a missionary in Lithuania for twenty years. He is 57 years old, lives and works in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, in a large suburban parish.

(ANS - Rosignano Monferrato) - The town has a centuries-old history, a source of important historical essays, all linked to the strategic position of the town, “sentinel of Casale”, a perennial seat of military garrisons. On the Sasso that dominates the town is the 12th-century castle and the parish of San Martino emerges on the opposite hill.

(ANS - Rome) – Released at the beginning of July was the video interview with the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, and the Councilor for Formation, Fr Ivo Coelho, presenting the document “Animating and Governing the Community - The Ministry of the Salesian Rector.” On Thursday 24 September an interview with Fr Stefano Martoglio, Vicar of the Rector Major, and Fr Coelho will be available on the first of the three parts of the document entitled "The Salesian consecrated identity."

(ANS – Sherbrooke) – Fr. Romeo Trottier, SDB, passed serenely from Sherbrooke, QC, into eternity at 4:20 a.m. on Sunday, September 13. In faith, we trust that he didn’t stop at the Pearly Gates but continued until he reached the Salesian Garden and was welcomed by Don Bosco, the Madonna, and the pantheon of holy Salesians.

(ANS - Antananarivo) - Madagascar is also still struggling with the Covid-19 pandemic. Not only because the new coronavirus has infected 15,925 people with 216 victims in the country, but also because the lack of international tourists due to the blocking of flights and travel has generated enormous problems for the tourism industry and all the related activities it generates. Faced with this situation, the Salesians have worked out a detailed plan to help, as far as possible, the people most in need, starting with those closest to their environments.
