In a press release, broadcast by “Misiones Salesianas”, the Missions Office of Madrid, the Salesians present in Mali said they are well and live with serenity the latest events taking place in the country.

(ANS - Cairo) - The Don Bosco Technical Institute in Cairo now has access to clean and drinkable water thanks to the "Clean Water" initiative of "Salesian Mission", the Salesian Mission Office of New Rochelle, USA. Every year the Don Bosco Technical Institute welcomes more than 4,000 people who regularly attend courses and other activities, and who will thus be able to benefit from access to drinking water and proper hygiene.

(ANS - Pointe d’Esny) - The nightmare of a environmental disaster is materializing off the coast of Mauritius: the Japanese tanker MV Wakashio, which ran aground on July 25, broke in two. An enormous amount of oil has spilled from the ship, which now threatens the coral reef and the entire economy of the small south-western Indian Ocean state. Fr Maurizio Rossi, a Salesian, who has been working in this area for 27 years, intervened on the tragic event. "This is our planet," said Fr Rossi, "we must take care of it and the political class must also be involved."

(ANS – Assam) - The Don Bosco College, located in Golaghat, Assam, India, has completed a water project to provide clean, fresh water for students and staff thanks to funding provided by Salesian Missions donors. The project is part of Salesian Missions “Clean Water Initiative” which funds and initiates projects to bring clean water to Salesian centers and programs around the globe.

(ANS - Chennai) - On the occasion of the International Youth Day, celebrated last 12 August, the Salesian Provinces of Madras (INM) and Tiruchy (INT) organized an online forum to listen to young people from different social classes of the State of Tamil Nadu. The forum was held from 6 to 9 pm and gave a voice to many young people and was managed by the Youth Ministry.
