(ANS - New Delhi) - The "Bosconet" Salesian Mission Office in New Delhi was able to provide food rations to those most severely affected by the lockdown imposed to combat the spread of coronavirus in the communities of Shillong and in the state of Assam. The support was made possible thanks to the generous help of the donors of the "Salesian Missions", the Salesian Mission Office in New Rochelle, United States.

(ANS - Rome) - From 2016, until a few weeks ago, Fr Raphael Jayapalan had served the Salesian Congregation as World Delegate for Past Pupils of Don Bosco. Here is his grateful greeting to all of them.

(ANS - Lima) - Sunday 26 July, in an atmosphere of joy and gratitude, the opening of the celebrations for the Jubilee centenary of the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Lima, the cultural and historical heritage of the city of Lima, was celebrated. The ceremony included a solemn Eucharist presided over by Msgr. Carlos Castillo, Archbishop of Lima, and concelebrated by several Salesians, including the Provincial Vicar, Humberto Chávez, SDB, and Fr Santo Dal Ben Lava, parish priest of the Basilica.

(ANS - Lilongwe) - The Don Bosco parish of Lilongwe, Malawi, received funding from Salesian Missions donors, the Salesian Mission Office of New Rochelle, for the purchase of corn to help families in the parish's neighboring villages. In total, 382 families have received corn.

(ANS - Niterói) - The "Mamma Margarita" Salesian oratory and youth center of Niterói, in the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil-Belo Horizonte Province (BBH), is helping needy families of the surrounding communities by distributing food and hygiene products. "What is more interesting is that when we started asking for donations we had nothing and Divine Providence, just as Don Bosco taught us, assisted us at all times," testified the Salesian responsible for the campaign, Fr Denis Dutra Marques.

(ANS - Calcutta) - Salesian Fr Joseph Aymanathil, a doctor of canon law, had been the pioneer of quality education for many children in the slums, mostly Muslims, for more than thirty years. He had started an important education project and over time offered free lessons to young people.
