(ANS - Luanda) - The Salesian NGO "International Volunteer for Development" (VIS) has opened a center in Luanda, the capital of Angola, to protect street children from Covid-19.

(ANS - Rome) - No one could have imagined that a group of young people from the Salesian Vocational Training Center of the CNOS-FAP of the Gerini Institute in Rome would find itself directly involved in the fight against Covid-19. The reopening of Italian companies from May 4 has in fact allowed young people of the fourth year of the Electronic sector to continue their internship in participating companies and, at this particular moment, attention has been paid to finding solutions to stem the world health emergency.

(ANS - Kigali) - The Salesians of the Africa Great Lakes Vice Province (AGL) have donated food supplies to people suffering from hunger in this period of confinement, a lockdown imposed to counter the spread of the coronavirus. The food was purchased at the local market and then donated to the Caritas of the parish of Rango, thanks to the support of the Salesian Mission Office of Krakow, Poland.

At the moment, in fact, the cases of infection and death are still quite contained, but the prospects are not good and experts believe the virus may spread rapidly in forthcoming months.
