Japan - 1926 - On 8 February ninety-six years ago, the first Salesians arrived in Japan, landing in the port of Moji. The confreres arrived there under the guidance of Fr Vincenzo Cimatti, a Salesian rich in great goodness, gifted with intelligence and uncommon human gifts, a joyful and creative musician. In this image, dating back to 1926 and currently kept at the "Chimatti Museum" in Chōfu, in the Tokyo metropolitan area, Fr Cimatti is portrayed with a group of children.
