Barcelona, Spain - 1911 - In 1911, the crypt of the current Tibidabo shrine was inaugurated in the presence of then Rector Major Fr. Paolo Albera. A few days after the inauguration, the latter was named "Expiatory and National Temple of the Sacred Heart of Jesus"; a decision made as part of the XXII International Eucharistic Congress, which was held in Madrid at the end of June 1911.
