ARCHIVO HISTÓRICO SALESIANOS ATOCHA

Madrid, Spain - 1944 - This photograph, taken in the year 1944, depicts the play entitled "Scenes of the Passion," staged in the Atocha theater. The play's libretto was written by Salesian Fr. Juan Gil, while the actors were young theologians from the Salesian Seminary of Carabanchel. On the stage you can see the lights, spotlights, curtains that gave depth to the scene and decorations. Over time this theater became a true museum, as its structure did not undergo any changes and many props, often donated to the Salesians by other theaters in Madrid, were kept inside. The photograph is currently kept in the documentary fund of the Historical Archives of the Salesians of Atocha.
