Mexico City, Mexico - 1892 - Fr Angelo Piccono, Fr Raffaele Piperni, Fr Simone Visintainer, Salesian Coadjutor Brother Pietro Tagliaferri and cleric in formation Agostino Osella - the first missionaries sent to Mexico by Fr Michele Rua, the first Successor of Don Bosco - were received on December 2, 1892, by Mr. Ángel Lascuráin, President of the Catholic Circle. The Salesian missionaries went dressed as civilians as wearing a cassock was forbidden.
