Turin, Italy - 1943 - Evening classes at the Agnelli Institute in Turin began on 10 September 1943, with 15 students. On 4 October of the same year, the day school opened, although there were not many boys, but they were all eager to learn. A canteen was later added. The number of pupils then increased with the end of the war and, in the school year 1947-48, with the new director, Fr Augusto Rossi, the school began to take on its own special character: Vocational Training Course in Industry. As the number of pupils increased, however, the premises needed to be enlarged and so, at the end of October 1947, work began on the construction of new classrooms which became operational in the 1948-49 school year.
