Lima, Peru - 1917 - Yesterday, 2 September, the 104th anniversary of the inauguration of the Crypt of the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Lima was commemorated. Over the years, various artists worked on the Crypt, such as the Italian painters Umberto Feltrín and Cesare Mainella, who created the pictorial ornamentation on the walls in 1929. The Basilica of Mary Help of Christians was inaugurated in July 1921 as a "National Tribute for the Centenary of the Independence of Peru" and this year, 2021, it was declared by the Peruvian Ministry of Culture as a Cultural Heritage of the Nation.

Bogota, Colombia - 1938 - In this photograph, taken in 1938 and belonging to the Salesian Historic Center of the St Peter Claver Province of Bogotà, a detail of the pulpit of the ancient Church of Our Lady of Carmen, in the city of Bogotà, is portrayed. Above, it is also possible to see a statue depicting St Michael. The old church looked like this already when the first Salesians arrived in the city. It was built, in fact, in 1655 by Pedro de Arandia.

São Vicente, Cape Verde - 1967 - In this photograph, it is possible to see what the Church of the Salesian School of Arts and Crafts of São Vicente looked like in 1967.

São Paulo, Brazil - 1911 - In this antique photograph, dated 1911, a moment of the first 25th anniversary celebrations of the Sacred Heart of Jesus High School in São Paulo is immortalized. As can be seen, a large group of faithful gathered to celebrate this significant date together. Photography is part of the vast virtual collection of MOSB, the Museum of Salesian Work in Brazil, which can also be visited through Google Arts & Culture.
