For 48 hours from Friday, 13 October, the spotlights of the Don Bosco Global Youth Film Festival (DBGYFF) were turned on in the hundreds of officially registered Salesian Family venues around the world. A great many people gathered to watch the screening of the short films and all the creativity of young people expressed through the means of the "seventh art". The DBGYFF was a dream become a global reality, uniting young people under the theme "Love builds peace and solidarity".

Boretto, Italy - October 2023 - A year after the Canonisation of Salesian Brother Artemides Zatti, the Rector Major of the Salesians and new Cardinal, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, visited Boretto, Zatti’s birthplace, on 7 and 8 October. They were two days full of events and appointments, including the conferring of honorary citizenship of the small Emilian municipality on the Rector Major. A moment of celebration, as recalled by the mayor of Boretto, Matteo Benassi, because “Saint Artemides Zatti was a man of joy.”. As part of the celebrations, the “ColorZatti” (Zatti Festival) event was also held, a youthful walk to rediscover the symbolic places of Artemides Zatti in Boretto.

Ariccia, Italy - October 2023 - The work of the Team Visit of the Mediterranean Region ended today, 6 October, after four days of meetings and reflections in the city of Ariccia where, accompanied by the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, and his Council, the Provincial Councils of Portugal, Spain, Italy, the Middle East and North Africa examined the theme "Building a future of hope" for the Provinces of this Region. Fr Juan Carlos Pèrez Godoy, Councillor for the Mediterranean Region and in charge of presenting the Salesian work in this Region, gave a positive assessment of the work and all that was shared by the participants, explaining how the Visit took place in a  typically Salesian serene and familiar atmosphere.
