Malta - April 2022 - From April 2 to 3, Pope Francis made his 36th Apostolic Journey abroad, visiting the archipelago of Malta. Pope Francis is the third Pontiff, after St. John Paul II and Benedict XVI, to travel to this island, which represents the heart of the Mediterranean. They were two intense days for the Holy Father who, during these two days, touched on numerous themes: prayer, the joy of the Gospel, welcoming and protecting the human dignity of migrants. Also during this trip, the Pope's thoughts went to the war in Ukraine, to the "humanitarian tragedy" of a "martyred" country, inviting everyone to never tire of praying and helping those who suffer because of this war.

Equatorial Guinea - March 2022 - The Animation Visit of the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, to Equatorial Guinea, which began on Friday 25 March, continues in a joyful atmosphere. The Successor of Don Bosco has been animating the three works present in the country, meeting with his confreres and encouraging the youth and the local Salesian Family. The Rector Major, who is currently in Malabo, will conclude his Animation Visit tomorrow, March 30.

Cameroon - March 2022 - On March 14, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, began the Animation Visit to the Salesians of Cameroon, during which he met the confreres of all the works, the members of the Salesian Family and received the perpetual vows of several Sons of Don Bosco. Then, from March 17-23, he presided over the spiritual exercises for the Provincials and Provincial Councils of the Africa-Madagascar Region.

While the bombing of Ukrainian cities continues and the wait for a new ceasefire to evacuate civilians grows, the Salesian world continues its unceasing mobilization in support of the Ukrainian population. In the new photographs, taken by Fr Michał Wocial and Fr Roman Sikon, it is documented how Salesians, young people and volunteers are constantly engaged in the distribution of aid and in welcoming so many people fleeing the war. Malta, meanwhile, is also mobilizing for donations, and thanks to the joint work of the Salesians with prominent figures and institutions, medical supplies destined for the Ukraine have left the island in recent days.
