(ANS - Cordoba) - Shorter or longer, with travel or without, with family or friends or with Netflix, holidays in Argentina are almost over. The winter break is a pause to recharge one's batteries and return enthusiastically to the courtyard, the playground, the place that always welcomes. The Salesians and the educators missed the activities, the children, the games and the cries, but one knows that this rest was necessary.

The "Residencia Salesian University" (RUS) operates in the heart of the city of Cordoba. Five neighborhood houses host the over 70 young people who come from all over the world to continue their university studies. They share lunch and dinner, all together, at the "Pio X" Institute, where they can also show their musical skills, as DJs, and sports, in football, basketball, volleyball, ping-pong. Without, of course, neglecting their studies.

Even if university students live "alone", they have two guardian angels who visit them daily, listen to them and accompany them daily. They are "Javi" Aybar, the assistant of the houses for boys, and "Pini" Moyano, assistant of the houses for girls; the Salesian who currently accompanies the life of the RUS is deacon Richard Godoy.

In the RUS, the mid-year exodus begins at the end of June, when the resident boys gradually begin to leave for home.

"When the refectory, which is a gathering place, begins to become depopulated due to this mid-year break, there is a bit of sadness and nostalgia, because we see how the strong energy that characterizes RUS goes out," says Pini. "But it is comforting to see them leave for their main affections: their families. They meet their family, their homes, their land, their friends, their companions ... You see them go away tired, worried, anxious, a bit stressed ... And they come back renewed!"

RUS is a constant movement of "some who leave and others who arrive," he continues. "When they arrive, joy arises, the meeting... Life returns when we meet again and take strength for the second phase, which is generally heavier."

The second part of 2019 will be a constant progress in the RUS. The young residents will be the recipients of the proposals that have been developed year after year to contribute to their integral formation: youth retreats, community festivals, mountain walks, tournaments …

The Salesian University Residence does not change the essence of living together among young people. It does not change in its ability to foster sharing, create bonds, help children in their paths ... And the Salesians will always be there, continue to accompany them.
