Photography is one communicative feature of Don Bosco. He was one of the first saints to enjoy being photographed. The motifs and scenarios of Don Bosco's photographs are very well studied, strategically enacted with communicative objectives of profound impact and great persuasive power. Don Bosco understood the power of images and the effectiveness of a recorded moment for stirring people’s emotions.

Gildasio Mendes, General Councilor for Social Communication, in line with the proposal of the Rector Major to continue to deepen the theme of the Strenna 2022, "Do all through love, nothing through constraint."
(ANS - Rome) - During the Spirituality Days of the Salesian Family 2022, dedicated to the spiritual and pastoral study of the Rector Major’s Strenna centered on St. Francis de Sales, Fr. Pierluigi Cameroni, Postulator General for the Causes of Saints of the Salesian Family, offered a contribution that highlights how “our journey to holiness and the promotion of the Causes of Beatification and Canonization of our Salesian Family draw great inspiration and strong motivation from him.” In fact, from his person and his doctrine emanate an impression of rare fullness, demonstrated in the serenity of his intellectual research, but also in the richness of his affections, in the "sweetness" of his teachings that have had a great influence on the Christian conscience.
(ANS - Lima) - According to estimates published by the British magazine The Lancet, for every two people who die from Coronavirus, a child is left orphaned or without a grandparent to took care of him or her. Between March 2020 and June 2021, the numbers tell us that almost 2 million minors have lost their mother, father, or a grandparent. Studies have also revealed that as a result of the pandemic, one child in the world today becomes orphaned every 12 seconds. In relation to the number of inhabitants, the country most affected by this drama is Peru, followed by South Africa and Mexico.
