Featured

08 April 2020

(ANS – Rome) – One year ago, in April 2019, an international Salesian Spiritual Retreat was organized at Colle Don Bosco with young people from different European countries. One year later, the world is facing the consequences of coronavirus pandemic. Nonetheless, the Small Team coordinating Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) Europe and Middle East has a proposal to share with young people all over the world. Adapting last years’ experience to the current situation, they are launching the first Salesian Spiritual Online Retreat from 14 to 17 April 2020.

Every day an input session and a sharing session will be animated online by the Small Team of SYM Europe and Middle East: Pablo Osorio from Spain, Marta Radic from Croatia and Jeanine Engerer from Malta. The input session consists of, alternatively, a Lectio Divina and a Lectio Salesiana, referring respectively to the Word of God and to the spiritual experience of Don Bosco. The preacher is going to be Fr Fabio Attard sdb. The language for the Lectio and for the sharing is English. Young people aged 18-30 are the first recipients of this initiative, but every person who is interested and able to join is welcome.

Every day, from April 14 to April 17, the input session will take place at 12pm GMT +2 (12 pm Rome time). After some time for personal reflection and prayer, the sharing session will then start at 3pm GMT +2 (3pm Rome time). In order to connect to the Online Retreat, which will us the Google Meet platform, one needs to register at the following link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1R_gu95apmGSz_a2rKsMdMdlHio6bmQ5h2mTn7FKJpM4/edit

Even though the proposal was generated by the Small Team coordinating SYM Europe and Middle East, it is meant to be open to young people from all over the world. This is a proposal to make the best use of this time of confinement, which is a global experience at this stage of the pandemic, in order to stay united in prayer and feel God’s presence in our lives. A proposal to grow up rooted in Salesian Youth Spirituality, in order to prepare ourselves for a new time after confinement is over.
