(ANS - Lombriasco) - After the positive response of the first edition of Expo "AgriCultura" Lombriasco, the second edition entitled "Hortus: Agriculture for Life", with important new features, takes place from September 29 to October 2, 2022, at the Salesian Agricultural School of Lombriasco (Via San Giovanni Bosco, 7 - Lombriasco - Turin), in the land of St. John Bosco.

The central topic of "Expo Hortus 2022" will focus on the theme of innovation and sustainability in the sectors of Floriculture, Horticulture, Arboriculture, Officinal/Ornamental Plants, and Mechanization following the themes already indicated by the Holy Father in the text Laudato Sì, Nothing of this world shall be indifferent to us" (Pope Francis) and by the European Union about the environment and protection of the ecosystem.

This a unique event that will allow students from the different Salesian Agricultural Schools and the territory to meet to get to know each other and discuss multiple topics to generate an international network of young farmers who, in the spirit of Don Bosco, can contribute to a sustainable future of agriculture, respecting the nature of the earth and peoples.

The 2022 event will allow us to discuss and share highly relevant and topical issues such as innovation, and sustainability concerning climate change and social agriculture.

All in the special setting of the remembrance of St. Francis de Sales, patron of the Salesian Congregation, on the 400th anniversary of his death.

It will be an opportunity to deepen our knowledge of his spirituality and to appreciate even more the characteristics of Don Bosco's Salesian spirit, Salesian youth spirituality, and feel even more a part of Don Bosco's Family.

The Father and Teacher of Youth, educator and formator, spread in the Missions that spanned across the continents, an educational model based on Vocational Training and the many activities also directed to the agricultural sector, with the creation of the Agricultural Schools, still widely attended by many students.

The invited Delegations will be welcomed by the Salesian confreres and the entire Educational Community of the House of Lombriasco and will be accompanied during visits to the places of St. John Bosco: from the Colle Don Bosco Hill, where it all began, to the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin-Valdocco, passing through Chieri and the Piedmontese territory.

The organization of the 2nd edition is once again entrusted to Dr. Daniel Ormeno, director of Net4Grow and collaborator of the Salesian Agrarian School of Lombriasco for projects of cultural exchange, local development, and Professional Training in the Agrarian, Agroindustrial, and Agribusiness fields, in dialogue with Salesian Agrarian Schools around the world.

In addition, for the success of the event, the aim is also to initiate cultural exchanges, do research, and create opportunities for growth and sharing, thanks to the involvement of new companies in the area that are also present nationally and internationally, various sector associations, Foundations, and Credit Institutions.

Also not to be forgotten is the important participation of the alumni/ae of the Salesian Agricultural School of Lombriasco, as exhibitors, professionals, and practitioners who give added value to the event.

All events and projects are disseminated online by the NET4GROW network, a valuable platform useful for generating connections and opportunities among schools, students, past pupils, professionals, and businesses in the sector in Italy and around the world.

Expo Hortus 2022 to "Entrust the land to young people," as a signal of strong revitalization for a healthy agriculture, without competition and in support of the ecosystem and all peoples.
