A seminar of this kind can help achieve many and important objectives: to enhance the spiritual, pastoral and educational heritage of holiness born of Don Bosco; to offer guidelines and good practices to promote the causes of candidates for the canonized sanctity of the Salesian Family; to help in the ascertainment and accompaniment of presumed miracles; understanding the true meaning and purpose of a process of canonization.
"While we express a profound and religious sense of gratitude and praise for the sanctity already recognized in our Family and for what is on the way to being recognized," says Fr Pierluigi Cameroni, Postulator General for the Salesian Family, "we are aware we have received a precious heritage that deserves to be known and valued under various aspects: liturgical-celebratory, spiritual, pastoral, ecclesial, educational, cultural."
During the seminar, topics such as scientific findings on miracles, theological assessment of miracles, as well as the meaning of the Communion of Saints and the common path on the way for holiness shall be explored and discussed.
"The Seminary initiative," concludes Fr Cameroni, "aims at promoting the knowledge, imitation and the intercession of these brothers and sisters of our charismatic family that the Lord has given us as life models, traveling companions and intercessors."
The seminar is meant for Vice Postulators and collaborators in ongoing cases, who have already been contacted for this purpose by the General Postulation; they shall also indicate other possible participants, encouraging the presence of people related to sites related to the memories or devotion of the candidates for holiness of the Salesian Family and representatives of the different groups of the Salesian Family, Salesian sites or specific centers of formation and spirituality.
