(ANS - Madrid) - A meeting for all the communication agents of the Salesian houses in Spain was held on Saturday 24 February at the Salesian house in Atocha, Madrid. "Not only do we need to have a good story, we also need to know how to tell it," said Fernando Cueto, creative director, advertising manager and blogger in front of 90 participants, as part of the main presentation of this IV Salesian Communication Day.

With his always incisive words, Mr. Cueto spoke of the need to understand how to tell your own news, who you are and what you do. With various examples and a series of practical decalogues and guidelines, he invited participants to narrate in the best way possible the stories that the Salesians of Spain share in their national bulletins or local Internet portals. He also urged and invited them to move from the art of storytelling to the art of storydoing.

In the previous talk, Fr. Francisco Javier Valiente, National Delegate for Social Communication, presented the fundamental keys for organizing communication in Salesian centers and spoke of the need to identify the needs of communication and to develop a communication plan that is as effective and efficient as possible.

The third report was presented by Fernando Maciá, Director of an important digital marketing consulting company, who offered some essential points to better position the contents generated in portals and social networks in Internet search engines. The fundamental question posed by Dr. Maciá was: "how to be effective so that search engines find us better to reach our users and public more effectively?"

This 4th Salesian Communication Day was organized by the Delegations of Social Communication of the two Salesian Provinces of Spain-Mary Help of Christians and Spain-Saint James Major, and saw the representatives of the various houses interested in communication and an educational and pastoral sensitivity to the use of audiovisuals, from both the technical and the institutional points of view.

"I want to communicate. I have a plan", " What are you telling me?", and "I am positioning myself " were the themes of reflection that the Salesians of Spain pondered and that have left useful fruits to participants in their efforts to continue the exciting task of announcing the Good News among young people.

"Let's go spread the news!"
