This book, authored by Father Lawrence Susai, a Salesian Priest of Chennai Province and Secretary of Don Bosco Polytechnic College, Thirukazhikundram, was released by the Provincial of Chennai Province Father K M Jose on 17 April 2021. Father Stanislaus Swaminathan, a mentor and friend who inspired the author, received the first copy. The book could ignite the minds of management students and Salesian Educators in India towards upward mobility in knowledge building.

The book answers the needs of the students and trainees who attended the lectures, seminars, symposia, paper presentations, tutorials, book review presentations and group discussions held by the author. Most of them wanted to own a copy of the presentations. That led the author to work on a sourcebook in this form.

The book treats the title in four chapters covering the fundamentals and salient features:

  • Chapter 1 - Management Concepts, Planning and Organizing.
  • Chapter 2 - Staffing and Controlling.
  • Chapter 3 - Focus and Individual Behavior.
  • Chapter 4 - Group Behavior and Leadership.

A student-friendly book, it is well researched, digested and presented in a simple and appealing form. During the prepublication discussions, Professor Dr G. Kumar, HOD of Department of Social Sciences, Kuddalore Government College of Arts and Science, commented, “This book can very well be a textbook for BBA.”

Prof. Dr Sasi Kumar, HOD of Sacred Heart Institute of Management Studies, added, “This book could serve as AN INTRODUCTION TO MANAGEMENT STUDIES.”

A month before the release of the book, St. Joseph College, Cuddalore, placed a prepublication order to use it as a textbook in their Commerce Department.
