(ANS - Rome) - Waiting, trust, prayer: it is in this spirit that the Salesian Family is facing this time of uncertainty following the theft of Don Bosco's relics from the Basilica of Castelnuovo. "To date, there is nothing new in the investigations regarding those responsible for the theft of Don Bosco's relics; we trust the investigative team investigating across-the-board to identify and find the culprits," said the Vicar of the Rector Major Fr. Francesco Cereda earlier today, June 6.
(ANS - Turin) - Three days after the sacrilegious robbery of the relic of Don Bosco from Colle Don Bosco, and while investigators continue their investigations to find it, the Salesians who animate the Basilica thank all those who have expressed their support with regard to the event. Special thoughts were expressed by Msgr. Cesare Nosiglia, archbishop of Turin, who on Sunday, June 3, urged all priests of his diocese to remember the Salesian community during the Masses of Pentecost Solemnity.
ANS - Asti – In the evening of Friday 2nd June, the relic of Saint John Bosco was stolen, which was placed in the rear side of the wall of Don Bosco Basilica at “Colle Don Bosco” in Castelnuovo Don Bosco.
(ANS - Panama City) - According to Fr Miguel Giorgio SDB, Rector of the Basilica: "The Rector Major and his Council have sent a casket of Don Bosco to each of the five continents. The Salesian Provincial of Central America received the casket with Don Bosco's relic and decided to place it in Don Bosco Minor Basilica, considered the right place because of the great devotion to Don Bosco in Panama. The casket came from Rome on 16 April 2016."
(ANS - Vatican City) - On 31 January, on the occasion of the Solemnity of St. John Bosco, the Salesians of the Vatican celebrated Mass in St Peter's Basilica, in the Chapel of the Choir, together with the staff of the printing press. For the occasion, the Papal Master of Ceremonies granted permission for the display of a reliquary of Don Bosco from 1929.
Ostrzeszów, Poland – 1933 – Don Bosco was beatified in 1929. The Salesians of Poland ran a House for the children of Ostrzeszów and in 1933, one year before the canonization of Don Bosco, they received the relics of Blessed Giovanni Bosco. On that occasion, many activities were organised, and among them there was also the rehearsal of the polyphonic choir so as to offer a proper welcome to the relics of the Saint of the Youth.

Latin America – Strengthening Vocational and Educational Commitment Today: 30 Years of the Salesian School in Latin America
(ANS) – Since the first meeting in Cumbayá (Ecuador), 30 years ago, educational processes on the continent have found a collaborative epicentre which has given rise to the Salesian School in (Latin) America – ESA, in Spanish – as a forum for reflection and a common path. Many Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB), Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) and other groups of the Salesian Family (SF) have enriched this synodal journey, focusing on young people and their integral development. What are today's demands of us in the educational field? How are we building the Salesian School of the future? Can we further strengthen this great Salesian educational network in America? Some FMAs and Salesians who were at the first meeting in 1994, share their experience and their vision of how this journey has allowed a growth in the understanding of the youth reality, in the strategic decisions within the Provinces themselves and in the challenges that emerge for Salesian education.
