(ANS - Port Moresby) - In 2020 Msgr. Francesco Panfilo, SDB, finished his duties as titular bishop of Rabaul and apostolic administrator of Bougainville, both located in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Before greeting the nation, he retraced his human, Salesian and episcopal journey in the country in the "goodnight" to the Salesian community of Port Moresby.
(ANS - Turin) - On the altar of St. Joseph in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin there is a large painting by the painter Lorenzoni, representing the Holy Family. It is an invitation for every Salesian work to be a family and for the educational style to be based on family relationships. But also an invitation to recover the spiritual and educational centrality of St. Joseph, in a world that so much needs fathers.
(ANS - Rome) - On the eve of the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, and in the special year that Pope Francis has dedicated to the Patron of the universal Church, the Salesian Family can look to Don Bosco to learn from him how to follow the foster father of Jesus.
(ANS - Damascus) - When everything started it was thought that it would be or last just a matter of days or a maximum of a few weeks and that everything would soon return to normal. But 10 years have been passed since the start of hostilities and peace has not yet arrived. There are no more bombings in the big cities, as there were a few years ago, but the wake of destruction, death, injured and displaced people is infinite. The Salesians, for their part, reinvent themselves constantly with a single goal in their minds and hearts: "Do not leave young people and their families alone". And they have succeeded. They have formed a large family of children, young people and adults around the figure of Don Bosco and their environments are considered "oasis of peace".
