Italy – Auditions open to join the Salesian Symphony Orchestra

21 March 2024

(ANS – Rome) – Registration is officially open for auditions for the Salesian Symphony Orchestra, a project coming from an intuition by Salesians and the young Orchestra Director Giuseppe Lo Presti. Beneficiaries of the project are young musicians from 16 to 30 years of age.

The idea of the Salesian Symphony Orchestra (OSS) came from the desire to establish a new social and musical youth opportunity within the educational environment of the Congregation of the Salesians of Don Bosco, and with them create a real and secure collaborative relationship in support of the young people who will be part of it.

In order to pursue this goal, leaders responsible for the initiative have now scheduled auditions to select orchestra members. The selections are proposed for the following instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba and Harp.

The auditions will take place on 25 and 26 May 2024 in the premises of the Salesian Pio XI institute in Rome, with a timetable that will be communicated by email to each applicant.

Registrations for auditions can take place until 11:59 pm on Thursday, 4 April 2024.
