Brazil - School of Formation for Salesian presence Animators of Manaus Province

Manaus, Brazil - April 2023 - On April 1, the Salesian Province "St. Dominic Savio" of Manaus (BMA) began the Training School for Animators of the Amazon Presences. This is a project implemented by the Youth Ministry that aims to offer Salesian houses a formative itinerary to contribute to the development of animators engaged in pastoral animation. This project is developed and monitored by the youth ministry delegate, Fr. José Ivanildo, together with a team made up of Salesians in initial formation, who, starting from listening to the challenges and needs of educating pastoral communities, seek to offer a formation that presents the characteristics of a Salesian Christian animator capable of serving the educational-pastoral community with effectiveness and assistance-presence. The course was conducted in virtual mode, with lessons broadcast on the YouTube platform on the "Salesianos Amazônia" channel. The inaugural class had more than 100 participants who accompanied the official presentation of the course and the project organizing team. Salesian Tailes Pires welcomed and led the opening prayer, immediately after which Fr. Ivanildo spoke and highlighted two essential elements for living well in the school of animators: participation and integration in a concrete gesture in Salesian works. Salesian Gustavo presented the course design in general, organized into six modules, each led by two teachers qualified in their respective areas, encouraging solid and productive training. After the general presentation of the project, the coordinator, Tailes Pires, concluded with the final guidelines and the date of the next module.
