The meeting convened by Fr Hugo Orozco, SDB, the Regional Councillor for Interamerica, was attended by 13 Salesian Provincials in the Region, Fr Gildasio Mendes, SDB (General Councillor for Social Communication), and Fr Ricardo Campoli, SDB (member of the Sector for Social Communication).
The meeting began on Sunday 22 October with a welcome and a presentation by the host Province (of St Louis Bertrando of Colombia-Medellín - COM), by its Provincial, Fr Luis Fernando Valencia. The minutes and actions taken report on previous meeting last year were also read out.
On the second day, the Provincials had a moment of fraternal greeting and exchange with the Educational-Pastoral Community of the "Saint Peter Claver" institute. It was followed by a day of spiritual retreat in the "Saint Peter Claver" religious house, which ended with a concelebrated Eucharist. A moment of fraternity featured to conclude the evening.
On the third day, Tuesday 24 October, a conference was presented by Fr Gildasio Mendes and Fr Ricardo Campoli with the aim of reflecting on the Salesian System of Social Communication and the Salesian Communication Network of America. The afternoon was followed by moments of reflection and dialogue to review the processes involving the regional level, such as: the conclusion of the Visitation of the Region carried out last March, the formation at the Post-Novitiate and Novitiate houses, and the functioning of the Regional Centre for the Specific Formation of the Salesian Brother (CRESCO).
