(ANS – New Delhi) – “The entire Catholic Church and especially the Church in India are very worried for Fr. Tom”. Thus is written in a communiqué released on January 14th by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI). To this purpose, the Indian Bishops promoted a Day of Prayer at national level, to be held in all the dioceses of the Country, as per convenience, between January 21st and 22nd, to invoke the release of Fr. Tom Uzhunnalil, the Indian Salesian missionary abducted in Aden, Yemen, on March 4th, 2016.

(ANS – Tonj) – Don Bosco Mission Tonj commemorated the seventh death anniversary of the Salesian Missionary from South Korea Fr. John Lee Tae-Suk (1962-2010). He was a medical doctor by profession, left his work to become a priest, joined the Salesian congregation and spent his life as a missionary in South Sudan. His priestly life was very short yet intense, and he he dedicated it for the people of Tonj, South Sudan.

This meeting is currently underway at the headquarters of the Pontifical International Council "Maria Mater Ecclesiae" in Rome. It ends March 24th. Vatican - Pope Francis at Pre-Synodal Meeting: "We need you young people, living stones of a Church with a young face"
(ANS - Vatican City) - Yesterday, March 19, at the headquarters of the Maria Mater Ecclesiae Pontifical International College in Rome, Pope Francis inaugurated the pre-synodal meeting of young people, scheduled until March 24th. In a serene, colloquial and very familiar atmosphere, he dedicated a whole morning to the 300 young people from all over the world, to prepare with them the Synod of Bishops scheduled for next October. And above all, he answered each of their questions.
