(ANS – Bruxelles) – The first week of April was very intense in the European Institutions, and the Don Bosco International welcomed various Salesian guests. On April 2 and 3, the European Commission hosted the 12th Edition of the Forum on the Rights of the Child. Salesians were meaningfully represented by Fr Antoine Farrugia from Maltese Vice-province, Hélène Muller from Don Bosco Action Sociale – France–Belgium South, and DBI Executive Secretary, Angel Gudiña.

(ANS -São Paulo) - With a number of events and activities, the first centenary of the "Instituto Dom Bosco" (IDB) in São Paulo, Brazil, was celebrated in the past few days, its symbol a leafy and imposing tree called "jequitibá". March 19 was an important date, as it commemorates the day of its foundation, during which it was recalled that the "giant IDB tree" is still alive and present in the lives of thousands of young people, in a "significant and very special way". But the institute celebrated the feast throughout the month of March, including performances of art, music and theater.

(ANS - Maynooth) - On the weekend from 5 to 7 April, a meeting in the "Saint Patrick" Province of Ireland (IRL) brought together the missionaries of Project Europe active in Ireland, Belgium and Hungary; with them, the spiritual Sons of Don Bosco engaged locally in sharing the Salesian charism; and Salesians currently studying English in Ireland.

(ANS - Heredia) - The place of welcome was the house "San Benito" in Heredia, Costa Rica; the days, from 29 to 31 March; the participants, about 100, belonging to: Damas Salesianas, Association of Mary Help of Christians, Volunteers of Don Bosco, Daughters of the Divine Savior, Salesian Cooperators, Past Pupils of Don Bosco, Volunteers with Don Bosco, Hogares Don Bosco, Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and Salesians. Finally, the theme of the gathering was: "the voice of the young awakens us", which served to address various topics and thus discover how to best accompany the children of the Central American region. Thus, a summary of the goings-on of the IV Central American meeting of the Salesian Family.

(ANS - Puerto Natales) - The official launch of the activities related to the centenary of the Salesian high school "Monseñor Fagnano" in Puerto Natales took place in the school library on the morning of 19 March. The activity coordinator, María Vásquez, announced that on March 22 there would be the inauguration ceremony of the centenary activities at the city's Sports Center.The activities to celebrate this centenary will be many and different throughout the year.

(ANS - Rome) - "We have begun the World Consultation on Youth Ministry which has the objective of reflecting on one of the fundamental themes for us Salesians: young people at risk," said Fr Fabio Attard, General Councilor for Youth Ministry, welcoming the select group of Salesians from all over the world who are meeting at the headquarters of the Sacred Heart in Rome: a meeting that began on the afternoon of March 27th and ends on Sunday March 31st.

(ANS - Rome) - The Faculty of Theology of the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) in Rome is promoting the meeting of the "Deans of Theology Centers" connected with the Faculty. The event, which runs from 25 to 28 March, brings together the leaders of the Affiliated, Aggregated, Sponsored and Sections Centers, from Europe (3), Latin America (6), Africa (3) and Asia (5), who participate together with other invited guests.

(ANS - Cuenca) - As part of a visit by the Provincial of the Salesian Province of Ecuador, Fr Francisco Sánchez, on Monday, March 18, the Salesian publishing house "Editorial Don Bosco" (Edibosco) has started celebrating the 100th anniversary of its education service, through various events that took place in the city of Cuenca, with the participation of directors, members of the house council and collaborators of the publishing house of different cities.

(ANS - Rome) - "We meet with the objective of reflecting and initiating implementation processes in the daily tasks of our lay mission, and above all with the aim of deepening the programmatic guidelines of the six-year 2018-2024 period," said the World Coordinator of Salesian Cooperators, Antonio Boccia. The World Council of this group of the Salesian Family is formed by the leaders of the world's 11 regions and gathers from 13 to 17 March in Rome. Yesterday, Thursday 14, the participants received a visit from the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime.

(ANS - Nairobi) - On March 8-11, the directors and principals of the post-novitiates in the Africa-Madagascar region gathered in Nairobi, Kenya, for a post-novitiate seminar. The appointment was the last of a series of similar events organized by the Regional Department for Formation throughout the Congregation. In this way, after having carried out a similar process for the Novitiate Masters in 2016, and for the Prenovitiate delegates in 2017, the path has been completed in the last 12 months with the leaders of the post-novitiates.
