(ANS – Novohryhorivka) – Novohryhorivka remains in the danger zone amid the relentless war in Ukraine that already has plunged nearly 18 million people throughout the country into desperate need for humanitarian aid. As always, our dedicated Salesian missionaries refuse to abandon those in need—despite persistent danger to their own lives.

(ANS – Sesto San Giovanni) – The funds raised by Sesto San Giovanni's Don Bosco Social Works educative and pastoral community have been transformed into several concrete projects. For a number of months, students, families, teachers and Salesians at the Lombard educational centre have collected donations worth 38 thousand euro, which will become tangible aid for social programs supported by the different sectors of the school. Several humanitarian projects will be supported from just one school, on behalf of many children in 4 different countries on three continents.

(ANS – Miraflores de la Sierra) – “I can and, indeed, I must continue to grow, doing good to others.” These are the words of one of the Salesians involved, that summarised in a single sentence the meaning of the formative experience that both the Salesian Provinces of Spain – St James the Greater (SSM), based in Madrid, and Mary Help of Christians (SMX), based in Seville – have just begun and which is called: “Ongoing Formation for Middle Age”. From Sunday 2 to Saturday 8 July, 22 Salesians from both Provinces participated in a formation course, personally invited for this purpose by their Provincials.

(ANS – Luanda) – Salesians in Angola, as in many other countries, deal specifically with young people at risk and for several years have been developing a rehabilitation program for young people in conflict with the law, following Don Bosco's Preventive System: “Um novo começo” (“A new beginning”). Children and their families benefit every year from this educational and social initiative that offers formation courses, professional skills and psychological counselling for the reintegration of young people into a healthy family environment.

(ANS – New Delhi) – Youngsters across South Asia came together at the VOICES event, a platform that amplifies their voices on pressing social and personal issues. Throughout the event, the participants shared personal stories and insights, shedding light on the challenges of migration, unemployment, digital addiction and substance addiction affecting the youth.

(ANS – Rome) – Following the unexpected announcement by Pope Francis of the appointment of Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesian Congregation, as Cardinal, the Rector Major himself has written a letter to Salesians and the Salesian Family, sharing what the future foresees for governance of the Congregation.
