Hong Kong - December 2023 - On the first day of the Christmas Novena, Salesian priests from different communities in the Hong Kong and Macau regions gathered in the Mary Help of Christians parish hall of St Anthony's Church to participate in Salesian Priest's Day. The meeting was also joined by Salesian brothers and some Salesians in formation. It was the first Salesian Priest's Day to be organised after the Covid-19 pandemic. The event, organised by the person in charge of the Commission for Ongoing Formation, Fr Carlos Cheung, SDB, was attended by Salesian Fr Lanfranco Fedrigotti. The latter read a letter to those present  from Fr Ivo Coelho, General Councillor for Formation, and then led a reflection based on the Letter to the Hebrews. Finally, a reflection was offered on the concrete examples of some heroic missionaries in China who faithfully lived their priesthood, such as the martyr saints Luigi Versiglia and Callisto Caravario, and the Servant of God Carlo Braga. The day then ended with a speech by the Superior of the Mary Help of Christians Province (CIN) Fr Joseph Ng Chi Yuen and with a moment of gathering and conviviality.
