Chhinchu, Nepal - June 2025 - The youngest children of the newly established Don Bosco School participated in a demonstration against air and plastic pollution held on 5 June as part of World Environment Day organised by the Chhinchu municipal office. The young participants carried a sign, shouted slogans and braved the moderate heat and the half-kilometre distance, pledging to keep the environment clean and prevent plastic pollution. The programme was organised by the Don Bosco Centre in Chhinchu, western Nepal, and hosted by the local administrative office of the Bheriganga Municipality. Members of the administrative office, members of the Area Committee, the local primary school and a host of prominent citizens and elders participated in the event, sending a strong message to the population about the urgent need to “act now” to preserve nature, now and for the future. This first group of kindergarten students also participated in the planting of trees as part of the day's programme.
