(ANS – Rome) – With the closing of the last Holy Door, that of St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, on Tuesday, 6 December 2026, the Solemnity of the Epiphany, the 25th Ordinary Universal Jubilee, proclaimed by Pope Francis with the bull “Spes non confundit” (Hope does not disappoint) and then carried forward by Leo XIV, came to a solemn conclusion. Although there were many ways to experience and savour the grace of the Jubilee, not limited to pilgrimages to the Holy Doors, and despite the fact that the Holy Doors were scattered throughout countless churches, shrines, prisons, and other emblematic places around the world, as is traditional special attention was given to the city of Rome, the epicentre of the Jubilee event. Here, then, are some figures from the 2025 Jubilee in Rome, as released at the closing press conference of the event.

(ANS – Vatican City) – The closing ceremony of the Jubilee took place on 6 January 2026, on the Solemnity of the Epiphany. Pope Leo XIV closed the Holy Door and with it the Jubilee of Hope, which began on 24 December 2024, by Pope Francis. The ritual symbolising the conclusion of the Holy Year, with its wealth of history, traditions, and suggestions, took place at 9:40 a.m.

Participatory Models in Salesian Higher Education (Rome, 27-31 October 2025)

(ANS – Rome) – Rome prepares to welcome a landmark gathering of Salesian educational leaders from across the globe as the International Conference on “Participatory Models in Salesian Higher Education: Synodal & Salesian Facilitation” opens on 27 October. The five-day event, part of the Jubilee of Education celebrations, is hosted by the Salesian University, Rome, and organized by the Salesian Institutes of Higher Education under the aegis of the Salesian Youth Ministry Department.

Rome, Italy – October 2025 – On October 11–12, the Adma Primaria participated in the Jubilee of Marian Spirituality, oa profound celebration of faith and devotion to Mary. The first day featured significant moments, including a pilgrimage through the Holy Door at the Basilica of St. Mary Major, personal prayers for the Jubilee, a visit to the tomb of Pope Francis, and Mass at the Chapel in the Salesian Headquarters at the Sacred Heart, with the Mass presided by Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime. After the celebration, participants had the opportunity to meet the Rector Major, Fr. Fabio Attard. On Sunday, the group attended a Pontifical Mass in St. Peter’s Square presided over by Pope Leo XIV. Together, under the banner of the Adma Primaria and the maternal gaze of Mary Help of Christians, members renewed their commitment to Mary’s mission of spreading her devotion to the world.

All this was on stage on the evening of Thursday 9 October 2025 in Piazza Don Bosco in Rome, where  consecrated men and women of the Salesian Family animated one of the three appointments scheduled for the ‘Note di vita’, promoted by the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life in Rome on the occasion of the Jubilee of Consecrated Life (8-12 October 2025). ‘Care and custody of creation - Protection of the environment’ was the guiding theme of the evening, spent among dances, testimonies, songs and thematic workshops in an atmosphere of harmony and fraternity.
