Italy – New Directory for Catechesis and New Evangelization. A webinar of Messina ITST

(ANS - Messina) - To deepen and fully understand the repercussions and implications that the new Directory for Catechesis, presented to the universal Church in June 2020, has for those involved in education and evangelization, the Center for Religious Pedagogy (CPR) "Giovanni Crovatta" of Messina, with the Theological Institute "San Tommaso" (ITST) - aggregated to the Faculty of Theology of the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) - and in collaboration with the Sicilian Regional Presidency of the Italian Catholic Press Union (UCSI ), promotes for next Thursday, April 29 a webinar entitled: "The New Directory for Catechesis and the new evangelization". The General Councilor for Youth Ministry, Fr Miguel Angel García Morcuende, will also participate as a speaker.

The webinar, with free and open participation, takes place from 15 to 18:15 (UTC + 2) and will be opened by the institutional greetings of Prof. Fr. Giovanni Russo, SDB, Director of ITST, and by Prof. Fr. Antonio Romano, Director of the CPR "Giovanni Crovatta", with the introduction to the work sessions by CPR-ITST Prof. Valerio Ciarrocchi.

Subsequently, Fr García Morcuende will present an intervention entitled "The evangelization of young people in the New Directory for Catechesis and Salesian Youth Ministry".

The subsequent interventions will then be dedicated to an "overview" of the new Directory, curated by CPR-ITST professor Nicola Antoniazzo; to the identity and formation of the catechist according to the indications of the new Directory, by CPR-ITST prof. Giuseppe di Bernardo; and to what the new Directory affirms on the subject of "via pulchritudinis", that is, on the channels of evangelization opened by the beauty of Christian art, music and culture - with an intervention by aforementioned prof. Ciarrocchi.

The last report will be by the Sicilian journalist and President of the UCSI Dr. Domenico Interdonato, and will concern the role of the Catholic journalist and communicator in the new evangelization, amid new languages ​​and new means of communication.

The conclusions of the webinar will be entrusted to Fr Romano, Director of the CPR “Giovanni Crovatta”.
