(ANS – Seoul) – A symposium titled “The Wise Use of the Guidelines for Catechist Formation” was successfully held on Saturday, 8 November, at the Salesian Provincial House in Shingil-dong, Seoul, to diagnose the current state and seek the future of catechetical education in the Korean Catholic Church.
(ANS - Rome) - On 15 October 2025, the Salesian Historical Institute (ISS) in Rome issued an invitation to the presentation of a new book, Formation of Indian Seminarians at Sacred Heart Seminary Poonamallee, Tamil Nadu - The Role of Archbishop Louis Mathias SDB (1935-1965) , published by Libreria Ateneo Salesiano (LAS). The work of Prof. Fr Hendry Selvaraj Dominic, SDB, it offers a valuable contribution to the knowledge of Salesian history and priestly formation in India in the 20th century, exploring the educational and missionary vision of Archbishop Louis Mathias, SDB, a central figure in the birth of the first Indian Salesian Province (1926).
(ANS – Lawaan) – Why wait for the feast day when you can celebrate early? The Biblos Sodality thought the same and joyfully honoured their patron, St Jerome of Stridon, on 28 September 2025, at Pilgrim Hall, DBYC-Lawaan.
(ANS – Porto) – Don Bosco International (DBI), the body that represents the Congregation before the EU institutions, was honoured to participate in the Porto Social Forum 2025, a key European gathering focused on strengthening social rights, promoting quality employment, and building a more cohesive and resilient Europe. The Forum, held in Porto on 18 and 19 September under the leadership of the Portuguese Government and supported by the European Commission, brought together policymakers, civil society organisations, youth representatives, and social partners to discuss the future of Europe’s social agenda.
