Goma, D.R. Congo - June 2021 - On the occasion of the Day of the African Child, the Salesians organized an event on Wednesday 16 June that brought together several dozen children and young people in street situations. The event took place at the "Don Bosco Gahinja" shelter, a branch of the "Don Bosco Ngangi Youth Center", which is intended by the Salesians of Goma to welcome young people who decide to leave the street for a social-family integration or to learn a trade. Children, single mothers, and young people attended the party organized to immerse them into the day's festive atmosphere. The sporting event, the dance, the fraternal sharing of a meal and raising awareness on the rights of the child were the highlights of the activity.
