Madurai, India - 17 July 2021 - Two Salesians were ordained as priests by Msgr. Anthony Pappusamy, Archbishop of Madurai, in the Shrine dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes in Madurai. The two Salesians belong to the two Salesian Provinces of Tiruchy (INT) and Chennai (INM), which cover the territory of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu in India. Fr Alfred Nishanth, belonging to INT, completed his theology studies in Ratisbonne, Jerusalem; while Fr Christopher Joseph Xavier, belonging to INM, completed them in Rome, at the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS). The Provincials and several other Salesians from both Provinces were present at the ceremony.
