India – South Asia Formation Commission trains Formators towards Affective Maturity
Chennai, India – August 2025: The South Asian Formation Commission (SAFC) organized a five-day training program on Formation towards Affective Maturity at Don Bosco Provincial House, Chennai, from August 7–11, with 38 formators from various congregations participating. The program introduced a new manual for novices on psycho-sexual and celibate integration. Fr. Biju Michael, Regional Councillor for South Asia, inaugurated the event, emphasizing alignment of thoughts, words, and actions with God’s will. Key sessions were led by the manual authors Fr. Joy Kaipan and Sr. Josmy Jose, alongside Fr. Johny Nedungat. Discussions included celibate living, emotional health, gender sensitivity, and managing sexual challenges. The program concluded with Fr. Banzelao Teixeira addressing respect for boundaries and fostering affective growth. Participants hailed the training as impactful, with real-life examples enriching the learning experience.
