(ANS - Łódź) - Almost 1,200 athletes, accompanied by their coaches and teachers from 35 local associations of SALOS, the Salesian Organization for Sport in Poland, took part in the 24th Salesian National Youth Games in Łódź from 16 to 18 September.
(ANS - Quito) - The General Assembly of the United Nations defines youth as people between 15 and 24 years of age. Today there are roughly a thousand million young people living in the world. The sad and frightening thing is that around 108 million young Latin Americans face severe problems when they begin looking for a job to start their professional life. The Twelfth Continental Meeting of the VIA Don Bosco Programme aims to advance strategic reflection on the subject and to continue to benefit young people in vulnerable situations in Latin America.
(ANS - Constanta) - This coming weekend the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, will visit Romania and Moldova, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the work in Constanta, the first of the three works in those two countries. Salesian activity has always been directed towards the integral development and growth of the men and women of tomorrow.

Myanmar – Tragedy of Innocent Children in the midst of Armed Conflicts
(ANS – Naypyidaw) - Myanmar finds itself immersed in profound grief and anguish as innocent lives, particularly those of children, continue to be mercilessly lost in the enduring armed conflicts. Families are left devastated by the tragic loss of their loved ones while the relentless violence shows no signs of abating. This week, a heartfelt plea from Myanmar reached our community, shedding light on the heart-wrenching death of a young girl Juliet in a military airstrike, prompting a unified call for prayers and action.

Spain – 2024 Pastoral and Theological Updating
(ANS – Santiago de Compostela) – The two Provinces of the Salesians of Don Bosco in Spain, Saint James the Greater (SSM) and Mary Help of Christians (SMX), are organising their Theological and Pastoral Updating meetings this year for the second part of July. This is an event that has become traditional, organised by the Formation Delegates of both Provinces, and aimed mainly at cultivating spirituality and ongoing formation among Salesians throughout the country.

Solomon Islands – Salesian presence in the country
