(ANS - Bogotá) - In the early Twentieth century century, Salesian spirituality was strongly focused on devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The leper colony at Agua di Dios, the "City of Pain", was born steeped in this devotion. This city was founded by a Salesian missionary priest, Fr Louis Variara, who also founded a religious institute to care for the leprosy patients. This great work began with three girls, two of them were suffering from leprosy and the third was the daughter of lepers.
(ANS - Rome) - Traditionally society sees disability in a negative sense. Many terms were coined, not all of them edifying: different, disabled, crippled, handicapped, and so on. But there are some who believe that the true value of the person is in the originality of each one and they want to spread this message throughout the year. The students of the Pius XI Salesian School of Graphics in Rome are doing this through their calendar "Dis-Ability 2017".
