Portugal - Image of Our Lady of Fatima runs through parish streets
Funchal, Portugal - May 2020 - As in Fatima, celebrations for the anniversary of Our Lady's apparitions took place in the parish of Fatima in Funchal without the presence of the faithful. The traditional procession of 12 May with the image of Our Lady of Fatima traveled through the narrow streets of the parish where the faithful, waiting inside their homes and burning candles, greeted its passage. The procession, led by Msgr. Nuno Brás, bishop of Funchal, and the parish priest Fr António Marcelino Ganança, SDB, ended in the courtyard of the Salesian boarding school of Madeira in the presence of various civil authorities and a small number of faithful, in compliance with the directives of the regional health authority.
