Cochabamba, Bolivia – October 2025 – On 23 October, an important formation meeting was held, bringing together Salesian missionary catechists from different parishes. The event took place at the Casa del Catechista (CADECA), located in Quillacollo, and brought together about 60 catechists involved in the Salesian mission. The opening day began with a welcome address by Fr Tin Nguyen Duc, Provincial Delegate for Missions, and Fr José Gallo, Vice-Provincial of Bolivia. After the opening ceremony, Fr Darwin Jiménez, Delegate for Youth Ministry, led the participants in a moment of prayer in the CADECA chapel, formally beginning the scheduled activities. The event focused on moments of formation, celebration and reflection, all framed within the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the first missionary dispatch of the Salesians of Don Bosco. Each day was structured around the theme ‘Missionaries of Hope: give thanks, rethink, relaunch’, an echo of the 150 years since the first missionary expedition. This theme allowed participants to reflect on their work and on the missionary spirit that animates their service. The event concluded on Saturday 25 October with a Eucharistic celebration during which the parish priests of the various communities symbolically presented each catechist with a missionary cross.
