India - An orientation workshop to help young people make informed career choices
Curtorim, India - October 2025 - With the aim of helping young students make informed career choices, Konkan Development Society the Don Bosco Vocational Guidance and Placement Service, in collaboration with Reginaldo Lourenco, Member of the Legislative Assembly, organised a career guidance workshop at the Village Panchayat Hall in Curtorim, Goa, held on 29 October. The event attracted around 100 students and some parents, emphasising the crucial role of family support in shaping career decisions. The workshop included dynamic sessions led by renowned experts, who offered students a holistic perspective on education and career paths. Noah Rodrigues, Regional Coordinator of the Don Bosco Job Placement Network project, opened the workshop with a session entitled ‘How to choose the right career path in 7 simple steps, guiding the students through self-assessment tools. Finally, in the following sessions, thanks to the intervention of Colonel Jesus Benino Furtardo, the students had the opportunity to learn more about the possibility of working in the army and to evaluate different careers after the end of their studies.
