Slovenia - Jubilee Pilgrimage of the Salesian Family and commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the First Missionary Expedition
Ljubljana, Slovenia - November 2025 - Members of the Salesian Family in Slovenia gathered at the jubilee shrine of Mary Help of Christians at Rakovnik, Ljubljana, on 22 November, for an intense and joyful day with a threefold purpose. At the invitation of the Provincial, Fr Peter Končan, to be ‘bearers of the Salesian charism’, they made the pilgrimage in the Holy Year with sincere Marian and ecclesial devotion. Salesian historian Fr Bogdan Kolar, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the First Salesian Missionary Expedition, then presented the history of the 98 Slovenian Salesian missionaries who have enriched all continents with the Salesian charism. Finally, the participants honoured the new saint of the Salesian Family, Sister Maria Troncatti, FMA, with a lively presentation by Sister Mojca Šimenc, FMA.
