Malta - TGS for Schools: San Benedetto students from Parma on a study trip to Malta
Malta - November 2025 - The TGS18+ Malta study trip (23-29 November 2025) carried out by the students of the San Benedetto Salesian Institute of Parma as part of the TGS for Schools programme, promoted by TGS Eurogroup for European citizenship education, has ended with great success. The core of the project was the meeting with Maltese institutions and social reality, guided by the European Union's motto ‘United in diversity’. The experience included a double international twinning with two Salesian schools: St. Patrick's Salesian School in Sliema and Savio College in Dingli, where students participated in cooperative learning sessions on inclusion, diversity, cultural identity and historical heritage. Significant moments were the meeting with a past pupil of Savio College now working in social services for homeless people, and the dialogue with the staff of the Hosanna Pia Home, a centre for refugees and asylum seekers. On the active citizenship front, the students visited the Maltese Parliament and the Grand Master's Palace in Valletta. There were also cultural visits to Rabat, Mdina and St Paul's Catacombs. TGS Eurogroup would like to thank the Friends of Don Bosco (FDB) association and its president Bryan Magro, together with the facilitators who led the workshops, as well as the teachers from the San Benedetto Institute who accompanied the students.
