Colombia – Communicating the mission to the world: meeting on Communication and Bilingualism in the Salesian Province of Medellín

12 March 2026

(ANS – Medellín) – A Provincial Meeting on Communication and Bilingualism took place from 3 to 6 March, a working session that brought together two key commissions for the development of the works of the Salesian Province of Medellín, Colombia (COM). On the one hand, the communication, marketing and commercial team; on the other, the bilingualism team. The meeting provided an opportunity to share experiences, strengthen processes and develop common strategies in the service of the educational and pastoral mission. In the area of communication, the process begun in 2025 to articulate the Province's Strategic Communication Project 2026-2032 continued. This will guide the strategies for organisational communication, digital marketing and commercial management in all the works of western Colombia. Significantly, this process integrated the marketing and commercial teams for the first time, with the aim of consolidating unified strategies that strengthen institutional sustainability and the visibility of the Salesian mission. Meanwhile, the area of bilingualism continued to strengthen the transition to bilingualism in the provinces' educational institutions, as well as its expansion to other works. During the meeting, several sessions of formation were held, including workshops on interculturalism and ethnocentrism in language learning, the dissemination of language policies, active methodologies for bilingualism projects, and formation on AI for academic purposes and the construction of shared narratives for Salesian works.
