(ANS - New Delhi) - The Salesian Generalate in Rome has appointed Br (Dr) Jose Puthenpurackel of the Kolkata Province as Assistant Director of Don Bosco Tech (DB Tech) South Asia, effective 24 May 2026. The appointment follows consultations with the Provincials of the Salesian Provincial Conference of South Asia (SPCSA), and he will assume office at the SPCI House in Dwarka, New Delhi. In his letter dated 17 March 2026, Fr Biju Michael, President of SPCSA and General Councillor for South Asia, thanked Br Jose for accepting the responsibility and reaffirmed DB Tech’s mission of empowering poor and marginalized youth through technical education and skill development. Currently Vice Principal of Salesian College, Sonada, Br Jose brings extensive leadership experience and strong academic credentials, including a PhD in Educational Leadership. He has served in key roles across the Kolkata Province, notably transforming a rural school in Azimganj through infrastructure development and CSR partnerships. With international exposure and over 200 training programmes conducted in the past decade, he is widely recognized as a dynamic educator committed to holistic formation in the spirit of Don Bosco.
