(ANS – Seville) – On 14 March 2026, the Association of Salesian History Enthusiasts (ACSSA) of Spain organised a tribute to Salesian Fr Jesús Graciliano González Miguel. This is a well-deserved recognition of a key figure in the research, preservation and dissemination of the country’s Salesian history. Fr Fernando Miranda, Superior of Spain’s Mary Help of Christians Province (SMX), highlighted Fr Graciliano’s ability to demonstrate that history is not merely the past, but a stimulus to move forward, emphasising his perseverance and the way in which he rekindles interest in historical heritage across the various provinces. Furthermore, Fr Fernando García expressed his gratitude for Fr Graciliano’s dedication and commitment to keeping Salesian memory alive, and for his perseverance in ensuring a generational handover that guarantees continuity. A heartfelt message also came from the FMA, through María Rosario Ten. Fr Stanislaw Zimniak, Secretary General of ACSSA International, recalled Fr Graciliano’s involvement in the Salesian Historical Institute and his decisive role in the growth of ACSSA-Spain, one of its most active sections. He emphasised that Fr Graciliano’s work ethic is evident in his numerous publications and his constant presence at international meetings, as well as his role as a tireless researcher, committed to spreading the Salesian work with rigour and passion.
