India - NE-VENT 7 Empowers Women Entrepreneurs in Northeast India
(ANS – Jorhat) – The seventh edition of NE-VENT, an entrepreneurship incubation programme for aspiring women entrepreneurs in Northeast India, was inaugurated at Bosco Institute on by The Hub Jorhat, launching a six-month journey for 26 emerging entrepreneurs. Fr. Jerry Thomas, Director of Bosco Institute, welcomed participants and highlighted the institute’s growth into a dynamic incubation platform fostering grassroots innovation. Patricia Mukhim, Editor of The Shillong Times, delivered the keynote address, emphasising courage, market awareness, mentorship and resilience in entrepreneurship. Y.R. Wilson Mariadoss further inspired participants with insights on mindset and inner strength. Representatives from NESSIA, NABARD, DICC Jorhat, Upper Assam Chambers of Commerce, ESAF Small Finance Bank and academic institutions were present. An exhibition by women incubatees showcased innovative products and market readiness. The programme concluded with an interactive session promoting collaboration and ecosystem building. NE-VENT 7, set to conclude in September 2026, seeks to strengthen the regional startup ecosystem through structured mentorship, skills training and enhanced market access, reaffirming its commitment to women’s empowerment and sustainable growth.
