The young pilgrims, accompanied by Fr. Franciszek Janyga, SDB, Provincial Delegate for Youth Ministry, have now returned home and are already busy planning the youth animation program for the coming pastoral year. Yet their minds keep going back to what they experienced for a week alongside hundreds of thousands of young people from all over the world during the Jubilee of Youth 2025.
The young people exclaim: “The Jubilee of Youth 2025: It’s hard to describe — you have to experience it! But, we shall try to give you an idea of how we had lived through this period of rich events.
From July 27 to August 4, we had represented the Krakow Province (PLS) at the Jubilee of Youth in Rome. It was an intense and spiritually fruitful time for all.”
Highlights of the pilgrimage
In Rome, they visited each of the four major basilicas: St. Peter’s in the Vatican, St. John Lateran, St. Paul Outside the Walls, and St. Mary Major. They also visited the Salesian Headquarters at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, built by Don Bosco himself, and met the Rector Major, Fr. Fabio Attard. They participated in the international gathering of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM Jubilee), visited Castel Gandolfo—the Pope’s summer residence—and attended the prayer vigil at Tor Vergata, where they met the Pope in person.
A lasting message
Above all, the words they heard on that occasion will remain with them forever. The Pope spoke about the value of friendship, peace, and the pursuit of holiness wherever we may be.
A week to remember
“We are very happy to have lived an intense week dedicated to prayer and pilgrimage to the Holy Places during this Jubilee Year. We are certain that it will bear good fruits for our entire Province.”
