(ANS – Mandalay) – In a remarkable display of compassion and solidarity, Fr. Bosco Nyi Nyi led a team of Salesians, diocesan clergy, and religious sisters to provide much-needed aid and support to 1,600 displaced families in Min Kun, near Moekok Hill. These families, forced to flee their homes due to ongoing conflict, received not only essential supplies but also spiritual encouragement and emotional support during this challenging time.

Comprehensive Aid Distribution

The mission delivered an impressive amount of essential goods to address the immediate needs of the displaced families. The team distributed:750 sacks of rice, 2,400 kgs of onions, 1,200 kgs viss each of cooking oil and dried fish and 15,000 eggs.

Special attention was given to vulnerable groups. Elderly individuals received multivitamins to support their health, while children under the age of three were given 300 toys to bring them moments of joy amidst hardship. In addition, the Salesians allocated 4 million Kyats for medicines and 4.5 million Kyats for general camp expenses, ensuring that the families could maintain basic living conditions.

Moral and Spiritual Support

Beyond material assistance, the Salesians provided moral and spiritual support to the displaced families. They spent time listening to their stories, offering prayers, and extending solidarity to those who have endured immense hardship. The outreach brought comfort and hope to those struggling to rebuild their lives.

A Mission of Global Solidarity

This humanitarian effort was made possible with the support of the Salesian Mission Office in Spain, whose contributions helped bring relief to the affected families. The displaced community expressed heartfelt gratitude for the assistance, which not only met their physical needs but also reaffirmed their dignity and worth.

The Salesian mission in Min Kun stands as a testament to the power of compassion and collective effort in addressing the suffering of displaced communities. Through their actions, the Salesians continue to embody their commitment to serving those in need, bringing light and hope to even the darkest circumstances.
