Argentina - Bishop John Cagliero with the ‘Caciques’ of Patagonia

Patagonia, Argentina - 1886 - In this old photograph, dated 1886, Bishop John Cagliero is portrayed together with a group of indigenous ‘Caciques’ from Patagonia. Besides Bishop Cagliero we can recognise Fr Domenico Milanesio, Fr Antonio Riccardi and Fr Tadeo Remotti. Behind them, in the back rows, are numerous “Caciques”, including relatives of one of the most famous “Caciques”, Valentín Sayhueque.
