Chennai, India – February 2026 – After visiting the Salesian Provinces of Calcutta and New Delhi, the Rector Major, Fr Fabio Attard, travelled to Chennai for the final stage of his visit. From 13 to 17 February the Rector Major met with the Provincial and his Council, spoke with the Rectors and community leaders, and interacted with young people from the Chennai and Pondicherry regions. Among the most important moments were the pastoral visits to Polur, Vellore, and Tirupattur, where Fr Attard encouraged formators, those in formation, educators, and members of the Salesian Family. His visit inspired the community, young people, and the entire Salesian Family to carry on Don Bosco's dream among those most in need, especially the poorest young people.
